British Columbia has its own regulations for charitable gaming. At Simplyk, we strive to make your work simpler. We’ve broken down some of the regulations of online gaming in your province, so that you can easily set up a successful draw for your organization. Keep in mind that if you are looking to raise money through a prize draw, raffle, 50/50 or other game, you will need to follow the regulations imposed by the Government of British Columbia and obtain a license.
Online sales and distribution for charitable gaming
In British Columbia, you can use online payment methods, such as Simplyk’s ticketing for your raffles. The types of gaming allowed online include: prize raffles, bingo and 50/50 draws. The conditions for online sale are:
- can only be used as a method for accepting and buying tickets
- the buyer’s address must be confirmed to be in British Columbia
- the ticket must then be generated manually by the organization and sent to the buyer by mail or scan.
- the payment method must be PCI compliant
Online ticket distribution is only permitted if the organization has applied and been approved to use an Electronic Raffle System (ERS). An ERS must be approved by the registered and certified by the Government of British Columbia. Simplyk is not a registered ERS.

Online draw for charitable gaming
The draw of winners cannot be done online or through electronic methods unless the organization is using an Eletronic Raffle System.
